Super Cindy’s Medical Adventure

Published January 2, 2017 by Kimberly Michelle Scott

Hi Everyone! I am Stacy.

I am raising money for my big sister. It is Super Cindy’s Medical Adventure.

If you know Cindy, you know she takes life as it comes and keeps going.

For the past 20 years, she has supported and cared for our mom and her own 4 kids, a high school senior with autism, a teen girl, a 6th grader with autism, and a second grader recently diagnosed with the rare Polycystic Kidney disease (PKD). After handing the torch to our younger sister, she was poised to just raise the kids. However, the 7 year old’s diagnosis of PKD- which is genetic- made doctor’s check Cindy. Cindy was diagnosed with Polycystic Liver Disease (PLD) and they saw something else and took a biopsy. Routine.

Long story short, on Tuesday mid December 2016, our mom had emergency brain surgery; on Wednesday mid December 2016 Cindy gets the biopsy results back- Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).

What does she do? She starts to plan… dinner, laundry, 6th grade science projects. (Who needs printer ink at 12:00 at night?) Oh yeah, and that whole TNBC thing.

So after years taking care of others, we want to help take care of Cindy and the 2nd grader, 6th grader, 9th grader, and high school senior. Funds raised will support the 400 mile move from her current state to here, so that she can be closer to us. Additional funds will be used to help defray the cost of securing housing near the family here. With the unexpected diagnosis and quick move, the kids will need a place to call their own so that they can attempt to readjust and so will she. We have found a rental in our development, only 60 seconds away!

This Go fund Me is so important. It will affect so many people. Any little bit helps.

Cindy hates pictures. But as soon as I can find one of her, it will go up… with her approval… I mean, she is still my older sister. Until then, like the song says, “say what you need to say.”
